Problem
You open a landscape presentation, choose File, Print, then use the Properties button to set your printer up for landscape printing. Yet when you print, the printer prints in portrait mode. Your slides get cut off.
Possible Solutions
- Visit the printer manufacturer's web site and check for an updated driver for your printer and Windows version. Download and install that if it's available. Or ... odd as it may sound ...
- Uninstall the manufacturer's driver and install the one supplied with your version of Windows, if one is available
- Set the printer defaults from Windows rather than using the PowerPoint Properties button
- Quit from PowerPoint if it's running already.
- Click Start, point to Settings, point to Printers (or Printers and Faxes), then click the icon for your printer.
- Use the options under the Printer menu (Properties, Printing Preferences, Defaults, etc. to set the printer's default orientation to landscape.
- Now start PowerPoint again and try printing.

Problem
Some older printer drivers accept settings when you make them via Windows but don't when you change the settings from the Print dialog of individual programs.
