Problem

I need to know if I can:

  • Install PowerPoint on my desktop and on my laptop
  • Transfer my PowerPoint license to someone else
  • Distribute the PowerPoint viewer to others
  • Etc.

Solution

Read the End User License Agreement for your copy of PowerPoint or the Viewer.

PowerPoint 2007

  • Click the round Office button and choose PowerPoint Options (the button's at the bottom of the dialog/menu)
  • On the PowerPoint Options dialog box that appears, click Resources and when the Resources screen appears, click About.
  • In the About PowerPoint dialog box, click the blue link: "View the Microsoft Software License Terms"
  • Read the first paragraph carefully. There are three different sets of licensing terms. The one that applies to you depends on whether you purchased a boxed copy of Office, received Office pre-installed on your computer or purchased it online.
