B/W printouts don't look right
Problem
PowerPoint prints your slides in unexpected ways when you print in B/W.
Solution
Choose View, Black & White from the main menu bar.
PowerPoint now displays your slides as they'll print to a B/W printer in grayscale mode (or in B/W vs Pure B/W mode if you use PowerPoint 97)
If you spot an item that doesn't look the way you want it to, rightclick it, then point to Black and White on the popup menu. Another popup menu lists a variety of options for how the shape is to print to B/W printers. Try the different options to get a feel for how each works. Pick the one that works best for your particular needs.
Note that these B/W options have no effect on how PowerPoint displays your presentation on screen or prints it to color printers.
